Banquet Hall Venue

Mount Southington Ski Area is a family-friendly mountain with great skiing and fun mountain activities. They offer a variety of terrain and instruction for all ages and abilities. The Mountain Room banquet hall is a great location for weddings and parties.

In 1964, local dentist Harold Richman and his wife became interested in opening a ski area near their home in central Connecticut. Richman hired a real estate agent who found the perfect site on a dairy farm. The former Simons’ cow barn was renovated into a base lodge with a cafeteria and ski shop, while the original farmhouse served as the office.

Unlike many larger ski areas, there is no slope-side lodging at the Mount Southington Ski Area. However, Hartford is a short drive away and offers a wide selection of accommodations from budget motels and chains to historic inns and romantic bed and breakfasts. In addition, the large base lodge features quick cafeteria-style dining and the Mountain Room restaurant and lounge.
